Pantheon, bei den Alten ein Tempel, der mehreren, wohl auch allen Gottheiten gemeinschaftlich gewidmet war. Das prachtvollste P. baute Agrippa in Rom auf dem Marsfelde, allen Göttern geweiht. Dasselbe wurde 607 von Papst Bonifaz IV. in die Kirche St. Maria ad Martyres verwandelt. In der Alltagssprache verstehen wir unter P. einen Ehrentempel.
